Among the missing after the Bayesian sank due to being hit by a tornado were British tech billionaire Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter. The total number of missing individuals was six, including prominent figures like Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer and US lawyer Chris Morvillo, as well as their wives. Despite the tragic nature of the event, twenty-two people were on board the vessel, and fifteen were successfully rescued.

Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, expressed shock and disbelief upon hearing the news of the Bayesian sinking. He emphasized his knowledge of the yacht’s design and construction, stating that sailing ships, like the Perini, were considered to be the safest vessels. He highlighted the structure and keel of the yacht, noting that they were designed to be “unsinkable.” Despite this claim, the events leading to the sinking raise questions about the safety and integrity of the vessel.
Search and Rescue Efforts
Divers involved in the search and rescue operation faced challenges due to time constraints underwater. A team of divers who had previously worked on the sunken Costa Concordia were called in to extend their dive time to 20 minutes.
