Issues with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Paint Peeling Off

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, a high-end foldable phone with impressive specifications, is facing a unique issue of paint peeling off its body. Users have reported instances where small sections of paint are coming off, particularly near the power button and the top left corner of the rear panel. This problem has sparked concerns among customers who expect premium quality from a device of this calibre.

Samsung has addressed this issue by suggesting that the paint peeling off could be the result of using “incompatible third-party products” with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The company specifically points fingers at “high-speed third-party” chargers that are not properly grounded. According to Samsung, the current leakage from these chargers can adversely affect the anodisation of the phone, leading to the delamination of the paint. Anodisation is a process that provides a decorative and durable corrosion-resistant finish to the metal body of the handset.

Other Factors

Apart from third-party chargers, Samsung also warns against using electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) massagers while using the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The company advises users to keep the phone away from their body when using such products to prevent paint peeling issues. However, Samsung does mention that if a third-party charger is from a reputable company, of high quality, and complies with the Qi standard, it should be safe to use with any Samsung device. The company recommends using an authentic Samsung charger designed for the specific device for the best results.

In India, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available in three different variants with varying storage capacities. The device starts at Rs. 1,64,999 for the 12GB + 256GB option, while the higher storage variants are priced at Rs. 1,76,999 and Rs. 2,00,999 respectively. Customers can choose from three colour options – Navy, Pink, and Silver Shadow. The device can be purchased from the official Samsung website, online retailers, and offline stores. Additionally, Samsung provides the option to purchase a 25W adaptor and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable separately, as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 does not ship with a charger in the box.

Overall, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers cutting-edge technology and innovative features, the issue of paint peeling off the device raises concerns about its build quality. Samsung’s explanation linking the problem to the use of incompatible accessories may provide some insight, but customers will likely expect a more robust solution to prevent such issues in the future. As the company continues to address and rectify these concerns, potential buyers will be watching closely to see how Samsung handles the situation.
