SpaceX is gearing up to launch the next private mission, Polaris Dawn, which is part of billionaire Jared Isaacman’s human spaceflight program, the Polaris Program. The mission is scheduled to take off on August 26 from Florida, marking the first of three flights purchased by Isaacman from SpaceX. The crew for Polaris Dawn comprises four individuals, led by Commander Jared Isaacman. Joining him are pilot Scott Poteet, medical officer Anna Menon, and mission specialist Sarah Gillis. The Polaris Dawn mission is expected to last up to five days, during which the crew will conduct various scientific experiments and research totaling around 40 tasks. Day one will involve ensuring minimal risk from micrometeorite debris and performing checks on the Dragon capsule Resilience. Day two will focus on carrying out experiments and preparing for the upcoming spacewalk, including testing the EVA suits. Day three will be dedicated to the spacewalk itself, lasting approximately two hours, with Commander Isaacman and mission specialist Gillis venturing outside the Dragon capsule.
