Google recently unveiled its newest addition to the Pixel lineup – the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This foldable phone marks the company’s second venture into the world of foldable smartphones, but the first to be launched in India.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold boasts an impressive 8-inch inner display, alongside a 6.3-inch cover screen. It is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chipset and comes with a robust 4,650mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 45W. The phone is priced at Rs. 1,72,999 in India and will be available in a single 16GB+256GB RAM and storage configuration. Customers can choose between Obsidian and Porcelain color options.
Unlike previous Pixel smartphones, which were exclusively sold on Flipkart, the Pixel 9 lineup will be available through various retail outlets, including Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is scheduled to go on sale in India starting from August 22. Additionally, customers can also purchase the device from Google’s Walk-in Centres in Delhi and Bengaluru, with plans to open a third center in Mumbai in the near future.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold runs on Android 14 out-of-the-box and is promised to receive seven years of Android OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. It is equipped with Google’s Tensor G4 chipset and Titan M2 security coprocessor, along with 16GB of RAM for smooth performance.
Google has equipped the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a range of impressive camera features. The phone sports a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with optical zoom capabilities. The device also offers several exclusive camera and editing features, such as Hands-free astrophotography, Top Shot, and Video Boost.
In India, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with 256GB of inbuilt storage, while customers in other regions have the option to choose a 512GB variant. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and USB 3.2 Type-C port. The phone is equipped with various sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
